Brought a blackberry curve.. What's happened?

i hate the sms now. its not threaded into one convo with one person, its all seperate i bought this phone today, i had the exact same one 6months ago, what the hell? i hate them all being seperate how can i put them all into one convo off one person?! its doing my head in!! or isnt it possible anymore!??! curve 8520.
