Is there a way to turn off threaded messaging on a pantech laser ?

I just got a pantech laser (yea, I know its a crappy phone; my other phone got stolen & this was the replacement they sent me -__-), and I get a lot of text messages but the threaded messaging makes it hard to read everything because if a person sends me multiple messages, its all just piled up and its hard to see what has been read and what hasn't. So is there a way to remove/turn off the threaded messaging ?
