Moving to the city for work/education?

I'm 21 years old, and came back home when I was 20, not returning to college. I've moved to a closer city and found minimum pay and cheap rent. Moved back to the further city and found no work. Came back home for a few months, now deciding on returning to the closer city for work that starts beginning of June, and eventually return to classes after the new year. Should I just stay home until classes start and find work within this small town ran by a pulp mill, or travel 2 hours to the city to begin working? This town is very secluded.
